Out of Hours Access
Patients are able to make an appointment to see a doctor on the day and 24 hours in advance. If you do not need an appointment but need advice the doctor is able to talk to you by telephone through our triage service. You will never be refused to see a doctor if one is available.
However, if we are not able to offer you an appointment you can attend a Walk in Centre.
Walk in Centre
NHS Walk in Centres offer convenient access to a range of NHS services and you can receive treatment for many ailments including:
- Infections and rashes
- Fractures and lacerations
- Emergency contraception advice
- Stomach upsets
- Cuts and bruises
- Burns and strains

Washwood Heath Walk In Centre, Clodeshall Road, Saltley, Birmingham B8 3SN. Telephone, 0121 322 4310, which is open from 09:00 until 18:30.
Accident and Emergency (A & E)
Major A & E department assess and treat patients who have serious injuries and illness. Generally you should visit A & E or call 999 for emergencies such as:
- Loss of consciousness
- Pain that is not relieved by simple analgesia
- Acute confused state
- Persistent severe chest pain, or
- Breathing difficulties
Out of Hours Service
The surgery is open from 08:30 until 18:30 daily. In additional the surgery provides extended hours on Tuesday evening from 18:30 until 20:00 when you are able to see a doctor or a nurse.
On Wednesday and Thursday afternoons the surgery telephone will be transferred to our Out of Hours Service (BADGER). However, the surgery is open for pre-booked appointments.
When patients telephone the surgery during times when the surgery is closed they will automatically be transferred to BADGER.
